Zenith Bank Partners NCF, CLICE Foundation to Curtail Child Labour

As part of activities to mark the 2019 World Day against Child Labour Day, Neighbourhood Care-Well Foundation in partnership with Comfort Literacy Intervention & Capacity Enhancement (CLICE) Foundation organised series of programmes designed to combat Child Labour through inclusive education for children from low income families.

According to Comfort Onyaga, the project picked 70 children (60 primary 5 school pupils and 10 junior secondary school students as direct beneficiaries) from low income families in BaySide and its neighbouring communities in Cross River State, paying their tuition, exam fees and also supported them with back-to-school kit such as customized books.

The initiative which was part of the Zenith Bank Plc Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) will enable the children to stay in school and focus on their dreams rather than work in the field. The project also affects 250 indirect beneficiaries; participants selected from 10 public primary and secondary schools to be sensitized on the need to focus on their dreams in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4.https://punchng.com/zenith-bank-demonstrates-commitment-to-ending-child-labour-oartners-with-ncf-and-clice-foundation/
