CLICE Foundation, Partners call for effective policy implementation on Human Trafficking

In her welcome address, Mrs. Ibidolapo-Salako Akinyombo, CLICE Foundation’s Trustee expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders and implementing partners for their cooperation towards collaborative advocacy while calling on the Government to End Human Trafficking. Mrs. Akinyombo said, the theme; “Demystifying the Greener Pasture Myth was theme adopted by CLICE Foundation sequel to the first stakeholders engagement the organization had organized in Bakassi Local Government Area, Cross River State in Partnership with the Human Trafficking Unit of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Cross River State Command and other local organizations.

She further reiterated that human trafficking is a global challenge that demands urgent attention and recounted a nerve-racking experience at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Conference where she was privy to a documentary that revealed the type of activities traffickers indulge in and how humans are sold at a commodity market just like products; they have different specifications, brands and services.
